Long Island sits close to the mainland, a short boat trip from Shute Harbour, and the resorts here are small. Weddings tend to be intimate by design rather than by budget: couples choose Long Island precisely because it will not hold two hundred people.

That scale suits solo acoustic better than almost anywhere else in the Whitsundays. In a group of twenty or thirty, one guitar and one voice fills the space without dominating it, and a large PA would be actively wrong.

What to know about music on Long Island

Everything arrives by boat

There is no vehicle access and no barge running to a schedule that suits a wedding day. Equipment comes across by launch from Shute Harbour, which caps how much gear is realistic and makes a compact setup the right answer rather than a compromise.

Small resorts, limited infrastructure

These are not large resorts with function-venue power distribution. Checking what power is available at the actual ceremony spot, rather than at the resort generally, is worth doing early, and the battery-powered option covers the gap.

Guest numbers set the sound

Long Island weddings are usually well under fifty people. The rig is scaled to the real headcount, which in practice means a smaller, more natural sound than an island resort wedding elsewhere in the group.

Yes. The most common booking in the Whitsundays covers arrival and ceremony music, then canapés, then the reception, up to four hours of live music across the day. Ceremony-only bookings are also available.

Will you learn our first dance song?

Yes. One song of your choosing is learned and performed live as part of the ceremony and reception package, at no extra cost. Requests for the rest of the day are welcome from a repertoire of over 500 songs.

How far in advance should we book?

For Whitsundays weddings in the peak May to September season, six to twelve months ahead is sensible, since the same weekends fill quickly across every island. Shorter notice is often still possible outside peak season.

Do you travel between the mainland and the islands?

Yes. Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island, Long Island, Hayman Island and Daydream Island are all covered, and island transfers and equipment logistics are handled as part of the booking rather than left to you.

What style of music do you play?

Solo acoustic guitar and vocals, drawing on folk, blues, pop, soul and country. Sets range from quiet background music during canapés to an upbeat set for a dance floor, and the tone is matched to the room rather than fixed in advance.
