Daydream is the closest island to the mainland, a short ferry from Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour. That proximity is the reason many couples choose it: guests can come across for the day without committing to island accommodation, and the logistics stay simple.
It is also the most relaxed of the islands to plan music for. Because the crossing is short and frequent, the equipment and timing constraints that shape a Hamilton or Hayman wedding largely fall away.

What to know about music on Daydream Island
A short, frequent crossing
The ferry from Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour is short and runs regularly, which makes Daydream the most forgiving island in the group for timing. Setup can happen closer to the ceremony without risk.
Guests can come for the day
Because day trips are practical here, guest numbers are often larger than on Hayman. That changes the sound requirement, so the rig is matched to the actual headcount rather than the venue's capacity.
Outdoor ceremonies and the wet season
Beachfront ceremonies need a wet-weather plan between roughly November and March. Knowing the backup space in advance means the music moves with you instead of being reset from scratch in the rain.

How does the music work if we move from the beach to the resort?
The pack-down and reset are built into the run sheet, and on Daydream the distances are short enough that the gap between the ceremony ending and reception music starting is minimal.
Do you play for guests arriving on the ferry?
Arrival music can start whenever suits, including as guests come up from the jetty. It is usually the easiest way to fill the gap between the ferry landing and the ceremony beginning.
Do you bring your own PA and equipment?
Yes. A full PA, microphones, stands and cabling are included in every package, along with setup and pack-down. For beach and lawn ceremonies away from mains power, battery-powered sound covers the ceremony without needing a generator.
Can you play both the ceremony and the reception?
Yes. The most common booking in the Whitsundays covers arrival and ceremony music, then canapés, then the reception, up to four hours of live music across the day. Ceremony-only bookings are also available.
Will you learn our first dance song?
Yes. One song of your choosing is learned and performed live as part of the ceremony and reception package, at no extra cost. Requests for the rest of the day are welcome from a repertoire of over 500 songs.
How far in advance should we book?
For Whitsundays weddings in the peak May to September season, six to twelve months ahead is sensible, since the same weekends fill quickly across every island. Shorter notice is often still possible outside peak season.
Do you travel between the mainland and the islands?
Yes. Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island, Long Island, Hayman Island and Daydream Island are all covered, and island transfers and equipment logistics are handled as part of the booking rather than left to you.
What style of music do you play?
Solo acoustic guitar and vocals, drawing on folk, blues, pop, soul and country. Sets range from quiet background music during canapés to an upbeat set for a dance floor, and the tone is matched to the room rather than fixed in advance.
